Church History
Five Members came from the Hughson MBC and were organized into the First Missionary Baptist Church, Turlock, CA, February 21, 1957 by the authority of the Roseville MBC. They began meeting in the Seventh Day Adventist Building in Turlock. (Minutes of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Turlock, CA).
The First Missionary Baptist Church, Turlock, CA moved to Denair, CA in March 1958. (Minutes of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Turlock, CA dated March 18, 1958). Meeting in the Old Denair Bank Building. Then the First Missionary Baptist Church, Turlock ,CA changed her name to “The First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church” of Denair,CA on Dec 20, 1959. (minutes of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Denair CA dated December 20, 1959) After the membership grew the church relocated to another building on Main St. currently known as Julia’s Taqueria. In the mid to late 80’s the church relocated once agin to her current location of 3516 N. Gratton Rd.
The Original Five Members Included:
E.G. Ward, Mattie Ward, Jasper Browning, Fannie Browning and Josie Reagan
Three Months Later: Homer Browning, Ruth Browning, Kelly Hurd, and Rachael Hurd
